Magnetic North Studio Sessions
April 2025
Bent String returned to the recording studio in April 2025. This time we went to Magnetic North Studios in Beachwood to record four more original songs. The band spent two days working with engineer, Chris Keffer, who also mixed and mastered the tracks. The tracks were recorded mostly live, with a few overdubs. The quintet was joined by guest artist Chris Burge, who played clarinet on the track Ghost Bikes.

78th Street Sessions
Bent String recorded as a quartet and cut these seven tracks live in the fall of 2023 at Brian Straw's West 78th Street Studio. The band had been together for three months. These songs were cut quickly as demos in a two hour window and there are no overdubs. “Liam” is an original tune, and the other six songs are cover tunes of classic blues, roots country, and jazz classics.

Music Box Sessions
Bent String recorded five original songs in May 2024 at the Music Box Supper Club. The session took place early in the day with closed doors to the public. Caroline King joined us and played accordion and tenor guitar. Anthony Papaleo was a guest artist adding lap steel guitar on the track, "Killin' that Thing.” The songs were mixed in the summer with engineer Brian Straw.
